How Selling Your Collection Works
Tell Me What You Have
Share some basic information about the collection and upload a few representative photos. You do not need to photograph every item.
I Review the Collection
I’ll look at the collection’s condition, demand, resale potential, and overall size. If I need more information, I’ll contact you before discussing an offer or arranging an inspection.
We Arrange the Next Step
If the collection looks like a good fit, we can arrange a closer inspection, local meeting, or pickup. There’s no obligation to accept an offer.
Questions People Usually Ask
Do I have to sell the entire collection?
Not necessarily, although Fates primarily buys complete collections rather than individual items. Tell me what you have and whether anything is being kept, and I’ll let you know if the remaining collection may be a good fit.
What types of collections do you buy?
Fates Collectibles buys comic books, Pokémon and Magic: The Gathering cards, vintage toys, retro video games, consoles, and mixed collections. If you are unsure exactly what you have, send a few representative photos and I’ll take a look.
How are collection offers calculated?
I consider recent selling prices, condition, demand, the size and contents of the collection, and the time and cost involved in sorting and reselling it. Offers are made for the collection as a whole and will be lower than the total someone might eventually receive by selling every item individually.
What areas do you serve?
Fates Collectibles is based near Scottsville and serves Central Virginia, including Charlottesville, Albemarle County, Fluvanna County, and Palmyra. I may also travel toward Richmond or Lynchburg for larger collections that justify the distance.
Meet Jason
I’m Jason, the owner of Fates Collectibles—a family-run collectibles business based near Scottsville, Virginia. My three daughters and I collect, sort, and sell comics, trading cards, games, and other treasures we find along the way.
I know it can be difficult to determine what a collection contains, what it may be worth, or where to begin selling it. My goal is to make the process straightforward: show me what you have, I’ll review it honestly, and we’ll decide whether the collection is a good fit.
